Dear Parents and students,
Many of you have already started thinking about exams so I am posting the list of topics to be studied for the forthcoming exams which concern J4, J5 and J6 with regards to Science. Students will need to study the notes and handouts they have on their project books and the relevant completed pages in the Science workbook. I have updated the student’s project books with a list of the notes that they are missing. I have already instructed the students to look through and obtain any notes they might have missed.
Junior 6 topics:
Dissolving, Filtration, Melting and Boiling, Insulation, Proteins, Micro-organisms, Roots, Flowers, Seeds, Acids and bases, Seeds that travel, Forces, Electromagnets, Special circuits, Salty circuit and all the experiment report sheets related to the topics covered.
Junior 5 topics:
Blood, Muscles, Teeth, Reflection, Condensation and clouds, Rocks, Elasticity, Vitamins, Flowers, Classification, ocean ecosystems (to be done), periodic table (to be done), units of measurement, graphs and charts, Earth and Moon (to be done).
Junior 4 topics:
Teeth, Reflection, Optical Illusions, Temperature, Soil, Wind, Metamorphosis, Forces, Magnetism, Static Electricity, Chemical reactions, Elasticity, and the Solar System (to be done), Animal Types Animals J4 HO (Click on the link to download a handout regarding this topic which was covered a while back and which is not in the students’ project book – Thanks.)
NB: I have checked the students project books and individually written which notes are missing in each and every students’ project book. If the students have missing handouts (maybe they missed some if they were ill) they are to request them off me. I have also asked the students to copy any missing notes they might not have from their fellow students. I will be scheduling revision lessons in which I will try as much as possible to have the students revise topics for the exam whilst checking again that the students have indeed obtained their missing notes and giving them the opportunity to do so if they haven’t yet done so. Please encourage the students to look through their project books as I am continually reminding them to do. Thanks.
